Forex Charts Widget

for Mac OS X Dashboard

Description

The Forex Charts widget allows users of Mac OS X to track the currency markets from Dashboard:

Front

The front of the widget shows the chart for currency pair and period currently selected. Clicking the info button at the top right flips the widget over to display the back:

Back

The following options are supported:

  • Currency Pairs
    AUDJPY, AUDUSD, CADJPY, CHFJPY, EURCHF, EURGBP, EURJPY, EURSEK, EURUSD, GBPCHF, GBPJPY, GBPUSD, NZDUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, USDDKK, USDJPY, USDNOK, USDSEK, USDSGD and USDZAR
  • Commodities
    Silver, Gold, Oil (Brent)
  • Stock Indices
    DAAX, CAC 40, FTSE 100, Dow Jones, Hong Kong, Nasdaq, Nikkei, S&P 500
  • Chart Periods
    10 Seconds, 1 Minute, 10 Minutes, 1 Hour, 1 Day and 1 Week
  • Chart Types
    Bar, Candle, Line and Point & Figure
  • Oscillators
    Volume, MACD, RSI, Stochastic, Slow Stochastic, Momentum, UOS, CCI, Simple, ADX and Moving Averages

Flat periods can be removed from the charts by selecting the check box. Clicking the Done button on the back flips the widget over to the chart on the front.

A resize control is provided at the bottom right corner of the front. Newly opened charts inherit the size of the last to record its preferences. To open a new chart using the default size close a chart first.

Download and Installation

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is required to use this widget. The procedure for download and installation depends on the browser you are using:

  • Safari
    If you're using Safari, click the download link below. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard (F12), click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it.
  • Other Browsers
    If you're using a browser other than Safari, click the download link below. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in ~/Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. Show Dashboard (F12), click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it.
